Alan Berger SAE ITC Board Chairperson
Alan Berger has over 25 years of international product development experience in the off-highway vehicle industry, much of which he gained through roles of increasing importance with Volvo Construction Equipment culminating in the role of Senior Vice President, Technology followed by Chief Technology Officer at CNH Industrial.
Mr. Berger joined Case Corporation in 1996 as Chief Engineer for Case Construction. This was followed by a series of roles from 2002 – 2005 with companies including Applied Materials and American Standard Companies. From 2005 – 2015 he served in Vice President roles at Ingersoll Rand and Volvo Construction Equipment responsible for Global Engineering, Product Portfolio Development, Advanced Engineering and Product Platforms. In 2016, he was named Senior Vice President of Technology with Volvo Construction Equipment.
In September 2016, Mr. Berger re-joined CNH Industrial in the role of Chief Technical Officer, Agricultural Equipment Products, with successive increases in responsibility, culminating in the role of Chief Technical Officer for the entire group. Mr. Berger left CNHi in late 2019 and is currently advising industrial businesses on digital transformation, product strategy, development processes and leadership.
Mr. Berger holds an MBA from J.L Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University, Illinois, USA; together with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Applied Mathematics and a Master's of Science in Electrical Engineering, both from Carnegie Mellon University Pittsburgh, USA. He holds 21 U.S. patents.

David Schutt, Ph.D., is the Chief Executive Officer of SAE International®. He oversees the global management and operations of the +$160M SAE Group, consisting of SAE International (SAE), Performance Review InstituteSM (PRI), SAE Industry Technologies Consortia® (SAE ITC) and several subsidiaries and joint ventures.

Within SAE ITC, Defense Automotive Technologies Consortium™ (DATC), administers as an Other Transaction Authority (OTA), a US Government mechanism to engage non-traditional defense contractors to integrate innovative automotive technologies quickly and efficiently into military ground vehicles, ultimately resulting in speed of adoption of commercial technologies and improved defense capabilities.
Dr. Schutt serves on a variety of not-for-profit and for-profits boards, national commissions, and local business organizations. Prior to joining SAE International in 2007, Schutt worked at the American Chemical Society (ACS) in several executive management positions.
Dr. Schutt holds a Doctorate in Chemistry and Chemical Physics from Princeton University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Calvin College. He also earned an M.B.A. from Johns Hopkins University.
Isabelle Caron - Head of Global Management Office Director Bombardier Transport
Isabelle Caron is the Head of Global Management Office at Bombardier Transport, located in Berlin, Germany.
Ms. Caron is a seasoned operational executive currently owning planning, capacity and capability, corporate governance, and the management information system. She has been with Bombardier since June 2018.
Previously, she worked for Rolls-Royce since 2009 having held a series of roles across Canada, the USA and in the U.K. in quality, continuous improvements and operations.
Prior to this position, Ms. Caron gained experience in the medical device and the electronic manufacturing sectors.
Ms. Caron holds a Bachelors of Commerce from McGill University and a Certificate of Management from McGill University.
Ms. Caron is certified as a Lean Sigma Black Belt, Lean Coach and Lead Auditor for ISO9001, ISO14001, AS9100.
Senior Vice President and Managing Director, Americas Director Siemens PLM Software
Del Costy is Senior Vice President and Managing Director, Americas for Siemens PLM Software, a business unit of the Siemens Digital Factory Division. In this role, he is responsible for sales, sales support and services delivery for the Americas organization.
Most recently, Del was the US Country Manager. The US Country operation represents Siemens PLM Software’s largest country in terms of revenue. Prior to that position, Del headed up the Automotive Transportation & Heavy Equipment vertical. As one the largest groups in the US, the vertical had seen double digit growth under Del’s leadership. Since joining Siemens in 2001, Del has delivered excellent results in both sales and sales leadership roles through a deep understanding of the challenges our customers face along with a strong knowledge of the Siemens PLM portfolio.
Prior to joining Siemens, Del spent ten years in the Automotive Supplier community supporting vehicle programs in both product development and manufacturing. Del began his automotive career with Abex Friction Products, now a division of Federal Mogul, as a Technical Sales Engineer. This was followed by joining a manufacturing consulting firm at which Del focused on supporting the Lean Manufacturing practice with emphasis on the application of software tools.
Del holds a BS in Engineering from Michigan State University and an MBA from Wayne State University. Del has established strong relationships across the organization and will continue to be an asset towards the Americas success.
Ori Marom, PhD - Head of the Autonomous Transport Director Port of Rotterdam
Ori Marom, PhD, is head of the Autonomous Transport Centre at the Port of Rotterdam in the Netherlands. In this role he responsible for various artificial intelligence (AI) and autonomous vehicle projects over land, water and air.
In addition, Ori is the owner of Segmentis, a pricing and revenue-management consultancy. He consulted companies on multi-channel pricing strategies, and marketplace platforms.
Prior to founding Segmentis in 2014, he was an assistant professor at the Rotterdam School of Management, co-founder of 2deal GmbH and chief scientist at DealAngel.
Ori holds a Ph.D. in information systems economics from the University of Rochester (New York), an MBA from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor and a BA (Magna Cum Laude) in economics and management from Tel Aviv University.
Chief Financial Officer SAE ITC Secretary/Treasurer SAE International
Brian Trybend is SAE Industry Technologies Consortia's Secretary/Treasurer and SAE International's Chief Financial Officer. Trybend is responsible for leading all aspects of Finance, including strategy, policy, treasury, accounting, compliance, financial planning and analysis, and investment oversight.
With respect to investments, Trybend works directly with the SAE Finance Committee and Investment Advisor to oversee the Enterprise's investment portfolio of more than $140M. He is a key member of SAE's strategy team and has been instrumental in developing strategic plans and annual business plans for the SAE Group. In addition, he has led many acquisition efforts and also played a key role in establishing SAE's global operations in China.
Trybend has over 25 years of for-profit and non-profit experience, both domestically and internationally. Prior to joining SAE in June 2000, he worked in public accounting, providing both audit and tax services to a diverse client base including individuals, for profit, not for profit, and governmental entities. After public accounting, he moved into a lead tax position with a multi-billion-dollar health system and then held a similar role with a multi-billion-dollar power generation company. In both roles, his focus was on mergers and acquisitions. Trybend received his B.A. degree in accounting from Washington and Jefferson College and is a Certified Public Accountant. He is a member of the Pittsburgh Society of Association Executives (PSAE), the Council of Engineering and Scientific Society Executives (CESSE), and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer Chair SAE Industry Technologies Consortia
Laurie Strom is the Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer of SAE Industry Technologies Consortia.
Strom is responsible for implementing the mission and vision of the organization; leading all functional operations to develop and achieve ITC’s long-and short-range objectives, and serves as the primary liaison for the ITC Board of Directors.
Throughout her career, Strom has leveraged technical and managerial expertise to provide data driven process improvements, practical but innovative solutions, and develop strong business relationships.
Prior to joining SAE ITC, Strom served as a Director with Honeywell Aerospace. While there, she provided tactical and strategic direction for more than 200 material and process engineers at more than 20 sites in 10 countries. She also coordinated Honeywell’s support for industry standards writing, technical auditing and personnel development.
Prior to Honeywell, Strom spent seven years at small businesses working in various research, development, production, sales and marketing roles. In the preceding five years, she was a Research Scientist and Technology Marketing Specialist at Eastman Kodak Research Labs. Strom has two patents on superconducting ceramics, one on molten metal filters, another patent related to additive manufacturing and several technical papers and research synopses related to ceramics, sensors, and medical technology.
Strom has a Masters in Materials Science from Rochester Institute of Technology, and dual Bachelor degrees in Geology and Ceramic Engineering from Alfred University.
