The Avionics Maintenance Conference (AMC) will be held April 23-27, 2018, at the Sheraton Dallas Hotel, in Dallas, Texas.
The event is expected to attract more than 650 technical and management professionals from more than 30 countries, representing 30 airlines, five airframe manufacturers and more than 170 avionics suppliers.
AMC is the foremost platform for the avionics and aviation electronics industry to learn, problem solve and source new information, products, technologies and services at one distinctive annual event.
The objectives of AMC are to promote reliability and to reduce operating and life cycle costs of air transport avionics by improving maintenance and support techniques through the exchange of technical information. In addition, attendee will:
The Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data, Health Management (HM): these are the latest buzz words that corporations are talking about. It is easy to talk about, but difficult to implement and use Big Data. In this first of several Big Data Symposiums, experts from the industry will discuss the need for big data to improve component reliability and provide examples of its use today, creating an airline health monitoring big data infrastructure so airlines can share data for the greater good of the aviation community, and an introduction to Integrated Vehicle Health Management (IVHM), which will cover some basic IVHM concepts, standards development work, implementation concepts, and Bell’s work in this area.

The symposium will address the upcoming ADS-B OUT DO-260B Mandate. The symposium will provide an overview of the Mandate timelines and requirements defined by the different countries and regulatory bodies. Additionally, the symposium will address FAA performance requirements of 14 CFR §§91.225 and 91.227, which are very restrictive, and FAA. Furthermore, the presenter will explore failure modes and requirements.
Speakers:
For years, pitot static failures have been an ongoing theme at the AMC. Airlines have reported reliability issues and failures during taxi-out. The new aircraft fleets are now flying (B787, A320NEOS, B737MAX, A350, B777X), and people would like to know if there are new designs and if a newly-designed probe would be available on older aircraft types as retrofit.

The AMC is an air transport industry activity organized by ARINC Industry Activities an SAE Industry Technologies Consortia program. The objectives of AMC are to promote reliability and reduced operating cost in air transport avionics by improving maintenance and support techniques through the exchange of technical information. AMC consists of representatives from the technical leadership of the air transport avionics maintenance community. AMC promotes improved avionics reliability and performance at lower life-cycle cost through the coordination of common technical problems in the airlines. AMC saves the industry money each year through participation in the annual Avionics Maintenance Conference. AMC also tracks developing maintenance issues and new products and makes inputs to or develops standards to maintain safe aircraft with lower life-cycle costs.
ARINC Industry Activities (ARINC IA) is a SAE ITC (Industry Technologies Consortia) program. The SAE ITC team specializes in establishing and managing consortia by providing proven processes, tools and resources.
