Founding Stakeholders
The SAE ITC Heavy-Duty Charging Consortium (HDCC) formed to accelerate electrified commercial vehicle adoption and deployment by focusing on seamless and unified Charging Experience across all OEMs/EVSE by issuing Standards that addresses Interoperability Challenges.
The HDCC is needed because a safe, well-functioning commercial vehicle ecosystem is critical to the supply chain of the world’s products and services. Industry is facing a myriad of challenges and opportunities and is being pulled in many directions all at once, including continuous improvements in safety and efficiency. As these topics consume time and resources, the electrification of the industry is continuing to move forward, and industry must collaborate to ensure needs are met and ultimate solutions are scalable, adoptable and simply make sense.
In today's rapidly evolving transportation landscape, the electrification of commercial vehicles stands as a crucial step towards a sustainable future. However, the fragmented nature of charging infrastructure and varying protocols across manufacturers pose significant barriers to widespread adoption. This is where the HDCC plays a pivotal role.
By bringing together industry leaders, OEMs, and EVSE providers, we are committed to developing a unified, seamless charging experience that transcends brand boundaries.
Through standardization and interoperability, the HDCC is tightly focused on powering the future of sustainable transportation by making electric fleets a practical and efficient reality for businesses of all sizes. The HDCC is committed to:
