SAE ITC EVPKI Consortium™ Welcomes New Member Tesla

TROY, MI. (March 12, 2024) – The Electric Vehicle Public Key Infrastructure Consortium (EVPKI Consortium) is excited to announce the addition of Tesla to the Consortium membership.

The EVPKI Consortium launched in October 2023 and is an industry led program within SAE Industry Technologies Consortia. The mission of the Consortium is to create and manage an inclusive framework for secure digital trust across the electric mobility PKI ecosystem to accelerate electric vehicle adoption and optimize the user experience. We are committed to supporting an accessible and reliable charging experience for all EV drivers to securely charge everywhere with everyone.

“Having a business which is a leader in both charging network operation and EV sales be among the first to join our consortium is an excellent vote of confidence in our efforts to accelerate EV adoption,” said Dale Jordan, EVPKI Membership Committee Chairman.  “The consortium looks forward to having the experience and knowledge of Tesla and encourages other companies that wish to help influence our framework for digital trust to consider joining as well.”

Telsa joins the team at an important time as the Consortium’s Policy Authority begins development of the SAE EVPKI Certificate Trust List (CTL), a key technical element of an interoperable, industry-wide PKI solution.  The CTL development is a critical step to interoperability and members may oversee the technical development and review the CTL before its publication.

Come join us in helping build a sustainable electric future!  Visit our web page at https://www.sae-itc.com/programs/evpki to learn more and inquire about membership.
